If you’re looking to have the fanciest ride in the branding pen here’s your mount!
“Chris” (“Chris”tmas Eve) is a 5 year old (December 24th.2019) 14’2 hh black tobiano Gypsy Vanner gelding. Two blue eyes and mane down to his knees gets him attention anywhere he goes. Was started lightly as a 3 year old with 30 days and started up again this past summer. Will continue to be in training right up until the sale and will have roughly 10 months under saddle come sale time. He’s great on trails, will go over or through just about anything. Been in rivers and over bridges. Has spent lots of time in the arena this winter. Rides around with his nose in the dirt, getting a good handle on spins, has tracked the heel o matic and has had a rope swung off him. He’s very light in his cues so would be best suited for a knowledgeable rider. He could make for a good lesson or beginner horse down the road with more miles. Obstacles, ranch reining/riding is right up this guys alley. He’s up for just about anything you throw his way!
He can be a looky lou and scoot sometimes but has absolutely no buck in him.
Ties, trailers, baths, clips all well with no vices. Good to trim, good feet, always been barefoot.
Unfortunately Chris got caught up in a wire as a weanling which left a nasty looking scar over his right hock. He was vetted and rehabbed and was given the all clear by the vet to start as a three year old. On the upside his feather does a good job covering it up.
His tarsal joint in both hocks have been fused since a yearling, they don’t cause him any discomfort or lameness. Updated x rays were done in November 2024 and are available for viewing. No maintenance needed. Up to date on 4-way, wormer, chiro and teeth.
