Starlight Cielo

Lefty is a 13 yr old sorrel AQHA gelding. He is a stout 15.1 hh and 1250 lbs. Pretty head, big hip, and an outstanding disposition. Own son of the legendary Gallo Del Cielo and out of a Smart Chic Olena bred mare….his pedigree speaks for itself.

I bought Lefty directly from the breeder, Cowan Select Horses of Havre MT, as a started 3 yr old. He’s been a top notch partner for me and I’m happy to tell you everything about him!

Broke, sound, gentle, and suitable for pretty much everybody. He has been rode by competent kids but I would not call him a true babysitter.
Nice manners, good to shoe, load, worm, tie, etc. Super friendly and catch him anywhere. Very easy going, uncomplicated, reliable and rides the same whether you ride him every day or once a month. Lefty rides around low headed and relaxed but he is powerful and electric when needed.
He has worked in the feedlot, gathered and doctored cattle outside and drug calves at brandings. Lefty has loaded 1000’s of cattle trucks at all hours of the day and night. He is excellent to pony colts and doesn’t get rattled when they pull on him or bounce off him.
Lefty roped steers in the practice pen all last summer and he has the potential to make a very nice rope horse on either end. Good in the box, scores nicely and goes where you ask him. Lefty is also very cowy, and I know he would take to the ranch sorting/team penning arena very easily.

Here is a quality gelding, just the right age, ready for the next chapter of his life.
