Haidas First Down ‘Grey’ is an exceptional all around 11 yr. old gelding. He came to us as a yearling. Sired by First Down Leaving SI (speed index) of 91. Out of a cutting bred, money earned mare Tell No Lies. Grey has a kind disposition with speed and mind. He is eager to please in any direction given. Grey has competed on the heading side, team roping at local Midwest and TRC jackpots. He scores good stands well in the corner. He is patient with lower numbered ropers to advanced ropers. Can handle fast and slow steers. He is seasoned in barrels and poles. Consistently running top of the 2D times in the ABRA/SBRA jackpots. He has no issues running into the arena. Grey has been in our riding program for over 4 yrs. Ridden by beginners of all ages learning to do obstacles, trail, gymkhana, western pleasure and mechanical flag and reining patterns. He is a calm, confident pony horse. Granny rides him when we put the first rides on our colts. He is my go to horse for branding and checking cows. In the winter he pulls the sled and does skijoring. Grey has seen water, mud and all kinds of wildlife. He has been on the hot walker, bathes and clips well. Stands well for hoof trims and vaccines. He’s always been barefoot never needed shoes. He is up to date on deworming and equine dentistry. He is an easy keeper. He lives in a pen of geldings, across from mares. Easy to load and travels well with and without other horses. He will meet you at the gate every morning, no problems catching.
