King is confident, gentle, powerful, quiet and a worthy rope/barrel prospect, trail or ranch horse. He has the quarter horse foundation looks and temperament of a true cowboy’s horse.

King has headed and heeled calves, has one man doctored and sorted range cattle. He is as nice as they come with lots of go or whoa when you need it. He started his working career in a community pasture with only a few rides on him. After getting a strong and necessary working foundation we took King on several trail rides including a weekend trip into the Alberta coulees.

He’s comfortable in the roping box, lots of speed and has been tracking good. He’s had hundreds of outside miles often packing inexperienced kids. Easy to catch, load, tie, blanket, trim, bridle and saddle with good ground manners. He is sure footed as the day is long. King is not herd bound nor spoiled in any way and will happily ride out alone or in a group. He does not need to be consistently rode – same ride once a week or once a year.

He has been working with me at a busy 5000 head feedlot. He has a good handle and the kind of finesse and softness that only comes from feedlot work. He is opening and closing gates, moving and sorting cattle, quietly riding through pens of cattle to check for illness and he’s acclimated to the noise and extremes. He’s neck reining and gentle leg pressure moves him where you want to go. He goes all day with ears perked but never breaks a walk unless you ask.

King will do what you ask of him with the kind of willingness and gentleness your whole family will appreciate. He is a big sweetheart with halter ring muscle and refined form, pleasure horse softness and stock horse grit. With no maintenance required, he’s legged up, teeth are done, dewormed and has toe and heel front shoes – ready for rough and slippery terrain or we can pull them for buyer after the sale.
