“Grumpy” is an 11 year old AQHA registered palomino gelding. He is the truest definition of a “been there, done that” family friendly horse. He is a forward ride with a very gentle, in your pocket personality. Grumpy has been used in all aspects of ranch work, including riding pens and pasture, working the sale barn, moving pairs, branding, one-man doctoring, and fixing fence.

In the team roping pen, he is finished on both the head side, and heel side as well. Grumpy has been seasoned in the breakaway/ tie-down pen, and is well on his way to being finished. Grumpy is no stranger to the rough stock end of the arena, as he has also been used to rope bulls and pick up broncs.

This horse has truly done it all; you won’t find one more versatile than him. He does not have a mean bone in his body and is suitable for all levels of riders. Just kick him in the belly to go, and pull to stop. He has never bucked or bolted a day in his life. He knows how to drive, rides bareback, doubles, carries kids around in front of the saddle, he rides in a halter or whatever bit you can find in the trailer. Most importantly, this horse is the same every single time you ride. Whether you ride him daily or twice a year, and he will be just as you left him.

Grumpy has been hauled to rodeos, jackpots, and brandings. When it comes to someone needing a solid, reliable mount, Grumpy has never let us down. He hauls great, stands tied all day, eats and drinks on the road, and isn’t bothered by sights or sounds. He is truly the once-in-a-lifetime kind of horse, perfect for the whole family to enjoy for years to come. Dad can go win a roping jackpot on him, Mom can take him out for a relaxing trail ride, and he will happily serve as a mount for the kids to enjoy.

Grumpy is easy to catch, and good for the farrier. He is up to date on dental, vaccinations, and farrier work. This horse’s only vice is that he requires annual dental work, as recommended by a vet due to how he wears his teeth.
