Wynston

Description

Wynston is a 10 year old 15.3HH grade gelding, that we have owned since a yearling. Wynston has always been a quiet and kind horse, one of the most gentle horses I’ve had the pleasure of being around. He will definitely get you notice by his calm demeanour and his beautiful colour.
Wynn has been used for cattle drives, doctoring cattle, moving bulls, branding, barrel jackpots, gymkhana, TSAR Training and trail rides. He loves a job and he is the horse for it. He has a big motor and can go all day to get the job done. For that I would say he is not for a beginner as he likes to work.
He would excel on a pack string, guiding outfit, rancher, feed lot, etc.
Wynston isn’t going to break any speed records and for that I never pushed him into the barrel pen (which is my preferred discipline). He would just do it because I asked him too. He is very green on barrels and I would not say he’s a barrel horse, as I feel it’s not his preferred discipline.
As a young horse I used him in Technical Search and Rescue Equine Training drills; where you work as a team and in pairs in searches, he did great in the back of the pack and leading the way through the bush.
Wynston is big boned, nice solid feet, hauls great, stands tied, stands for the farrier, loves chiropractic work, does well in electric fencing and is just a really easy horse to be around. He’ll go through mud, water, trees, up and down hills, you name it.
Wynston is being used in a feed lot from mid January till sale date with Nikki Becker with Diamond Caliber Performance Horses. Nikki will also be riding him through the sale in April. She also will be taking him to the arena for gymkhana nights and breakaway roping.
Wynn does have a quirk, if he is fresh when you cinch him up he sometimes will have a hump in his back. So I put the saddle on, do the cinch up (not tight) finish the rest of my stuff and then cinch tight and he is fine. He did not do it at all last year but I do like to disclose that he did do it previously.

This gelding will be one you’ll want to mark your catalog to come check out!

Wynston is up to date on feet, vaccinations done May 2024 and teeth done May 2024.

Only reason for selling is I have 2 kids under 2 and we just don’t do enough ranch work or have enough time to unfortunately keep him.

Located in Teepee Creek Ab until mid January, then will be in Whitecourt with Nikki.

Please do not hesitate to call or text 780-296-0398. I would love to answer your questions and I could chat your ear off about Wynn all day. He really is one of my favourites and hope to find him the very best home.

We will update his video with more current videos prior to March 15.

Bid on this horse at the 11th Annual Top Gun Horse Sale on April 13, 2024 in Ponoka, AB.
